Youth Online - Connecting and empowering young disciples
From 26th of September to 2nd of October youths invited from different countries in Asia and Europe gathers in Hong Kong. They are all from churches with some kind of relation to each other and this is the time to connect them.
Youth@online is the second conference of its kind (1st :Emerging leaders conference in 2003), and the main goal for the conference Youth@online 2007 is: Connecting and empowering young disciples.
The conference gathers young leaders from different protestant churches in both Asia and Europe for a week in Hong Kong. The days in Hong Kong will be a place where young Christians may get to know each other and get to know different church-experiences from each other. Hopefully this week will initiate a lasting relationship between the participants.
Our hope is that through this gathering young Christians will be empowered by:
- Exchanging experiences
- Being equipped in spiritual confidence
- Learning leader roles of today, leader models.
- Learning from young leaders in the Bible
- Learning new methods of sharing the gospel
- Making it possible for young Christians to meet and share their faith to their own generation
- Being equipped to take responsibilities in their churches
We believe this conference will give more courage to youths and help them engage more deeply in Christian life and church. In addition this kind of meeting may be resourceful for the youths and for the churches also after the conference. Facing different challenges in different churches and different countries, it is good to be able to work and share in network. The participants will be challenged to continue sharing their spiritual experiences and their church experiences with each other also in the future. Many of the churches invited to send participants are minority churches in their countries. This conference gives them an opportunity to build relations with others in the same situation.
